What is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator?
The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia
The National Gestational Diabetes Register is a new initiative, which will help women who have had gestational diabetes manage their risk of later developing type 2 diabetes through:
- Regular screening reminders
- Important health information, such as the Life After Gestational Diabetes booklet
From July 1 all women diagnosed with gestational diabetes should be registered on the National Gestational Diabetes Register.
To ensure your patient benefits from the Register, we encourage Credentialled Diabetes Educators to register patients as early as possible.
Please read the flyer Click here and if you would like more information about the Register, or to download a registration form, please visit http://www.ndss.com.au.
As many of you will be aware, the proposed Constitutional Changes have been available on the ADEA website for some time.
The ADEA Board of Directors has prepared a fact sheet and PowerPoint presentation, and has encouraged all Branch Chairs to discuss the proposed changes, at your Branch meeting.
From a corporate governance point of view, the suggested changes, if accepted, will move ADEA into more current governance arrangements.
I encourage all members to review the current Constitution, and suggested changes.
